Care Foundation and Association Leadership Set an Example

The Master Builders Care Foundation Board of Directors and current Master Builders Association President Lynn Eshleman volunteered to help construct new housing for homeless in Shoreline.

The volunteer day, which took place on Aug. 8, 2011, was organized as part of your Care Foundation's outreach program.  Board members Tracy Cromwell, Craig Krueger, Art Castilleja, Kelley Moldstad and Arthur Sullivan, plus Eshleman and the Care Foundation's two staffers, Jay Schupack and April Wetmore, all met at the Jacob's Well construction site. The two tasks for them to tackle were to drill for anchor bolts and nail siding in place.

When completed, this first phase of Jacob's Well became home for 12 homeless families and features common area for counseling and meetings.

Jacob's Well is a Vision House new-construction project. Volunteers from the Master Builders have participated in building five Vision House shelters over a 10-year period.

Each November, the general membership of the Master Builders Association has an opportunity to participate in its annual award-winning Painting a Better Tomorrow® program.
