Your home is your most valuable resource. Attendees will learn how implementing green strategies can help to protect and enhance their homes. This hands on class will provide homeowners with resources and tips for making their homes more resource efficient while protecting the environment at the same time, as well as what they need to know prior to renovating, buying or selling their home.
The instructor will provide attendees with a rich resource list and information that will help them evaluate their options and will review strategies that address energy and water efficiencies, material selections, indoor environmental quality and local economies. Homeowners will have the opportunity to see short videos of energy testing and samples of products and materials.

- What energy audits and home assessments are and why they are important prior to completing any renovation projects.
- How to make a home more resource efficient and techniques to improve indoor environmental quality.
- What the common rating systems are and how to identify what is relevant to your property.
- Where to find rebates and incentives on green products and systems and what questions to ask.

Master Builders Association member Brenda Nunes has developed, taught and facilitated classes on green building and remodeling, low impact development, sustainable sites and other sustainable topics for real estate and business professionals and homeowners throughout Washington state. She provided expert consulting services to the National Association of Realtors for development of the National Green Realtor Designation. As Executive Director of the Sustainability Foundation, a 501 (c3), she leads efforts to develop practical educational programs and demonstration projects that encourage responsible development.
