Designations
Certified Green Professional (CGP)
The National Association of Home Builders' (NAHB) Certified Green Professional designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green building principles into homes - without driving up the cost of construction. Classwork leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the homebuilding industry.
Curriculum and Other Requirements
Required Courses
- Green Building for Building Professionals
- Business Management for Building Professionals or hold an NAHB designation
Other Requirements
- Have a minimum of two years of building industry experience
- Adherence to the CGP Code of Ethics
Continuing Education Requirement
To maintain your CGP designation you are required to complete twelve (12) hours of continuing education every three (3) years. A minimum of six (6) hours is required to come from The NAHB University of Housing educational activities. A minimum of eight (8) hours is required to come from green building industry-related educational activities.
