Design Professionals Council

Description:
The Design Professional's Council's primary goal is to create a stronger community of association members involved with the design aspects of the building industry statewide. Any builders association member involved in the engineering and design aspects of our profession is cordially invited to join.

The council plans a robust schedule of meetings, events and, in cooperation with education and certification opportunities specifically for architects, building designers, builders, developers, engineers, interior designers, design/build contractors and their employees. With the strength of such a diverse and unified group of professionals from around the state the development of new and positive changes can be significant. In addition, this unified and diverse body of professionals will be able to make a strong statement to the legislature in Olympia.

The Design Professionals Council will also offer members the opportunity to expand their business horizons and open new doors as council members interact with other professionals from around our state. We are opening membership to all current and future members of any homebuilders association located within Washington State. The membership fee is $50 per year. It is expected that as the council develops, local homebuilders associations will be able to use the council as a recruitment incentive to attract new members.

Council organizers expect that as council membership grows, local homebuilders associations may establish their own Design Professionals Councils. With a goal of developing a strong powerful statewide voice for professionals in the field of design, our association chose to lead the way by creating this first Council. Because our association will handle management of this charter council, council members from other local associations will not be burdened by administrative responsibilities.

Meetings:
The Design Professionals Council meets on the second Thursaday of each month, unless otherwise indicated. Check the calendar for upcoming meetings.
